The ATR833S is the successor to the well-known ATR500 aeronautical radio. It supports the reduced channel spacing of 8.33 kHz. The ATR833S is a completely new development featuring state-of-the-art digital signal processing. The result is an audible leap in voice transmission quality. One innovation is the extremely lightweight plastic housing developed in collaboration with the affiliated company f.u.n.k.e. PLASTICS GmbH, which reduces the weight to less than 400 grams and makes the ATR833S one of the lightest radios in its class.
Like the proven ATR833, the ATR833S has a voice-activated intercom. A new feature is the automatic detection of the microphone type. The clear and straightforward operation makes the device easy to use, which is particularly important for clubs and owner associations. The bright two-line LCD display (similar to that of the proven ATR500) always provides all the essential information at a glance with just a few additional symbols. In addition, the device naturally has all the features that can be expected from today's devices, such as Bluetooth communication for data transfer from common smartphones. A wide range of cable adapters is available for the radio, so that in most cases it is possible to simply replace the device.
