The FSG8 is the successor to the well-known "yellow briquettes" FSG4 and FSG5 and can handle the reduced channel spacing of 8.33kHz as well as the previous 25kHz.
The FSG8 has the same housing as its predecessors and is therefore just as robust.
The device is technically based on the ATR833S or Mk-II development, but has been fundamentally revised in order to fulfil the requirements for approval as a fully-fledged ground station.
The intelligent power management of the FSG8 reduces power consumption in standby mode to an absolute minimum and thus enables extremely long operation.
